Summer Celebration Parade – Hartley, IA
This past Saturday, August 5th, RGM participated in its first parade in Harley, IA. It was their Summer Celebration parade; however, it didn’t seem like summer. The weather, IMHO, was more like spring with cooler and wet weather. We thought the parade would be postponed or cancelled. But NOOOOOOOOO, the “parade” must go on!
Well, we are glad it did! Though we were soaked by the end of the parade we had great time and people were happy to receive the gospel tracts with the candy. Praying the Lord will use this means of spreading the gospel to increase His kingdom through the salvation of His elect by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone to His glory alone.
Here are a few pictures (stills from a video of the parade posted on the internet). Not the best quality but they show that there weren’t very many people on the parade route – distributed about 500 gospel bags. Larry was “filmed” giving a bag to someone as he stepped in front of the camera not knowing the person was taking videos of the parade.
We thank the Lord for all of the volunteers who help distribute bags with gospel tracts and candy: Larry Villalobos, Alex (Harvey Spaans’s grandson), Ana DeBoer and Harvey Spaans, the drive of the RGM car. Oh, and I helped, too – got soaking wet like the rest – Praise the Lord!

Next Event:
Gospel in the Park – August 19th – pray that the Lord will bring many people to hear a gospel message and enjoy singing gospel songs led by Gary Vander Hart.

Our last event for this year . . .
