“There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.” (1 Samuel 2:2 KJV)
In this prayer of Hannah that is recorded in God’s word, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, she declares the truth that there is no other “rock” like our God, the Lord God (YHWH Elohim), the Creator of all that exists. So, what does that mean and how is that relevant to mankind and more importantly those who of us who are God’s children, born again by the washing and regenerating work of the Holy Spirit; saved by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, resting His one atoning sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life (the redeemed children of God)?
When we are told in Scripture that the Lord God is the Rock it is referring to His unshakable faithfulness to protect, provide and keep His redeemed children in times of great turmoil and tribulation. He is the Rock upon which we can stand and know that no matter how strong the storm that beat against us we will not fall into unrepentant sin; follow after the idols of our heart, putting our trust in men or riches; or forsake or compromise faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and to find help in our time of need. The Lord our Rock will not fail to keep us steadfast and strong to persevere through the fiery storm that is about to come upon the world in the next few years.
Though some may say the solutions that will be imposed upon mankind are reasonable and for “the good of the whole,” those solutions by wicked men will enslave and oppress mankind. Christians will be required to deny Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word (John 1:1-3, 14), who is the Rock. You will be required to look to a different rock, either in the form of man, or a one world system of governance that controls your every move and every thought through AI and/or a small group of self-proclaimed elites. You will not be able to buy or sell anything without submitting to that world system. You will be forced to depend on that one world system for everything, as it sets itself up as a rock that is stronger and more powerful than the Rock, who is the Creator and Sovereign King over all Creation. You will be made to worship the rock of man’s imagination and innovation rather than the only true Rock.
However, the rock that is set up by man will fail. Further, those who put their trust in man’s rock will be crushed by the Rock (Deuteronomy 32:31-39); and they that put their trust in man’s rock, or man’s solutions will fall into despair and hopelessness as the storms of hardship, strife, conflict and hunger come (Revelation 6:16). Jesus illustrated the failure of man’s rock(s) to withstand the storms of this life; much less, the severe storm that is coming. Those that build their trust in man’s solutions (rocks) are like the man who built his house on sand. When the storm came with the rain and wind and beat against his house, the sand washed away together with his house. Nothing was left, except shame and misery for being so foolish (Matthew 7:24-25); shame and misery both in life, and more importantly, in the Day of Judgment when he will stand condemned before the Righteous Judge, Jesus Christ; condemned to eternal torment in hell.
Wouldn’t you rather put your trust in the Rock who will keep you safe during the storms of this life? The Rock, who is Jesus Christ, the Incarnate YHWH, will protect your heart and soul not only from life’s severe storms, including the time of great tribulation; He will also not fail to keep you strong and steadfast no matter how strong the rain and wind beat against you. He is the solid Rock upon which you can stand with absolute assurance of being able to persevere to the end of the storm of judgment that is coming.
Won’t you this day repent of putting your trust in man’s rock and by faith turn to Jesus Christ, the solid Rock that won’t fail you? Jesus is the Rock of Salvation; the Rock of Refuge, the Rock of Hope, the Rock of Light and the Rock of eternal life upon whom is built the house of God. Jesus Christ defeated sin and death, when He shed His precious blood on the cross and rose again from the dead three days later, obtaining thereby once and for all time the forgiveness of sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life on behalf of His Chosen people; all who put their trust in Him, who been born again by the washing regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. Be assured that all for whom He died and rose again, Jesus will give all things necessary until the end; for He has obtained for sinners (all who believe in Him) a Rock solid life, both now and forever; an abundant resurrected life now and a resurrected life in a glorified body in the new heavens and the new earth to the glory of God, forever.
Soli Deo Gloria!
