Proclaiming the Gospel without Fear

Sermon Text: John 4:1-4; Scripture Reading: John 4:1-26 (additional reading: Acts 8:1-25)

Message delivered by Pastor Richard Stetler on August 31, 2025 at Resurrection Hope Congregation

When proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you will always run into those who will oppose the message and speak about you to others to discredit or degrade you. Jesus teaches us that we are not to be fearful of those that oppose or even persecute us; but rather we are to pursue the proclamation of the Gospel fearlessly and boldly because we don’t know who is one of His sheep that will hear His voice in the Gospel message, turn from their sins and by faith follow Him with a believing heart, resting for their salvation in His one atoning work on the cross where He shed His precious blood obtaining for His lost sheep the forgiveness of sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life in the new heaven and new earth. Even those who were at one time Christ’s enemies have been converted and found to be one of His sheep that was lost, just as the Samaritan woman.
