“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27 NKJ)
We have come to a new year
We look back on 2020 and see much trouble, many unsettling events: the CoVid-19 pandemic; tyranny reigning from government magistrates, governors and mayors who have exceeded their authority or who refuse to uphold the rule of law; unchecked rioting and violence in many cities around the nation, cries for social justice that is not justice at all but only revenge, retribution and discriminatory against innocent people that are targeted because their skin tone is too light; an election that has became an attempted coup by a treasonous political party, the socialist democrat party. It has been a year when a nation has been torn apart by rebellion and lies that had taken deep root amongst its leaders – a root that goes deeper than never realized ever before.
A Nation in Crisis – In Rebellion against God and His Word
It took a nation in crisis to reveal how deep the roots had spread of hearts hardened to the truth, embracing a lie as though true; a nation refusing to do that which is right as evil reigns in the hearts and minds of a people that have forsaken the God of truth to embrace gods of their own imagination. All of this insanity; all of this chaos, confusion and conflict is the result of a nation, a people that have turned their backs on the Lord God who has revealed Himself in the Bible: our Creator and Sustainer of all that there is; who is the Redeemer of sinners like you and me, our Savior and our Deliverer. Will we be a nation that continues to walk down the path of rebellion against our God and Creator, who created all that there is in six ordinary days about 6,000 years ago by power of His word? Will we believe the lies of those who have their hearts set against the only true and living God; hearts that have rejected the truth recorded in Holy Scriptures, the Bible? Will we exalt the wisdom of the world that changes each and every day? Or will we embrace the wisdom of God as taught in the Bible? Will we seek our salvation in men or in ourselves? Or will we repent of our sins and by faith come to Christ alone for our salvation, for our peace and comfort in this life and in the one to come, in eternity?
Looking Forward with Great Hope In Christ – Will You?
I look forward to 2021 with great hope knowing that as a believer in Christ, by the grace of God, I will serve Him who is more powerful than those wicked men and women who seek to undermine truth and pervert righteousness. Will you? I will be praying that God will bring a new spirit to this nation and a new heart as He gives His chosen people a new spirit and a new heart by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit working grace to change hearts and lives through the preaching of the gospel of Christ. Will you? I will be praying that God will so open the eyes of sinners everywhere to see that they are under the condemnation of sin, hell bound to eternal torment if they don’t repent; that they will see their need for a new heart and a new mind submitted to the word of truth, the Bible – that they will see they must repent of their pride, rebellion and perversions, and believe on Jesus Christ for their salvation, trusting in His one atoning sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life. Will you?
To Unbelievers:
The government will not save you; no one can or will – only Jesus Christ. You cannot save yourself. You are hopelessly lost and in bondage to sin (Romans 3:9-20). Only by the grace of God will you be saved through Jesus Christ from the eternal torment of hell. Won’t you this day repent of your sins and by faith alone come to Christ alone, trusting in His one atoning sacrifice on the cross alone for the forgiveness of sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life?
To Believers:
Let’s look forward to 2021 with a renewed resolve to proclaim the salvation that is in Christ Jesus alone. For in Him alone will you be saved; and in Him alone will you be able to endure what I believe will be a year of more trouble, more tribulation and more rebellion. Yet, even in the midst of tribulation there is great blessing and hope in Christ. In Christ alone is our hope and only as individual believers faithfully proclaiming the gospel of Christ will we ever see real change – a change that will glorify God as we serve Him freely in the freedom that is in Christ. May God grant us His grace to serve Him in freedom from sin’s dominion in submission to God’s law; and in a freedom from political tyranny upholding law and order according to the Constitution of this country, as it was originally written, not as it is now being “re-imagined” by many in our various government offices and institutions of so-called higher learning.
