Message delivered at the Gospel in the Park in Hartley, IA, on August 22, 2026
Message delivered by Rev. Richard Stetler, Resurrection Hope Congregation, Hartley, IA
We are living in a time of uncertainty; troubling Times, in fact. It is during these times of trouble that stir up our heart that become very troubled – full of fear and anxiety. This message focuses on the fact that Jesus told us His disciples that not to let their hearts be trouble, but to believe in Him; then, He gives them 2 reasons as to why they are not to have troubled hearts because He was going to depart from them soon. These reasons are found in the first 6 verses of the Gospel of John Chapter 14. From these verses we are able to find true peace and rest during troubling times, even today. May the Lord work grace in your heart so that you also will find true peace and rest that only Jesus Christ can you during these troubling days; especially, as we understand that these troubling days in this world should be expected and that your hope is in what Jesus has accomplished and will accomplish, because He is our only hope, our only peace, our only joy – He alone has overcome this world of chaos, war and the evil that is stirred up by wicked people: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 KJV).
