Sermon text: John 6:65-71 (Scripture Reading: Psalm 73:1-28; other reading: Jude 1:1-26)
Message delivered by Pastor Richard Stetler on October 18, 2026, at Resurrection Hope Congregation, Hartley, IA
There was a mass departure by many of those who were following Jesus. Those who departed didn’t understand Jesus’ “saying” regarding Him being the Bread of Life and the spiritual nature of what Jesus said when He told them they had to eat His flesh and drink His blood, a figurative teaching concerning the life He gives to all who believe in Him (explained in previous messages beginning with John 6:25 through to the current message on His conversation with people at the synagogue in Capernaum after the feeding of the 5,000 people). There was a separation between who were true believers and those who were following Jesus for their own benefit. Not much has changed today. Please note: The audio is not very good – it breaks up for some reason (Lord willing, it should be fixed with next video). It is because of that, I have uploaded the Sermon Script so you can follow along with it or just read the manuscript I wrote and preached from) – Click HERE to open the document.
