We are thankful to God for His many blessings. He has supplied our every need according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). He has also given us opportunities to spread His Gospel message to others in various ways.
One of those opportunities happened last month in Sioux Center, Iowa, at the Indoor Fair, put on by the Chamber of Commerce. Through the generous donations of our supporters in this work, we were able to join the Chamber of Commerce as a non-profit organization. This, in turn, allowed us to occupy a booth there. We set up our booth with a banner and table that had display stands containing the Gospel message on them from different approaches. We also had Bibles, the Three Forms of Unity, and gospel tracts available for free. We spoke to many people who passed by our booth and gave away a number of Bibles (30), all of our Three Forms of Unity (10 + 1 sent out by mail by request), and numerous tracts.
My daughter, Ana DeBoer, was a huge help. She was there much of time, filling in at times when I was not able to be there. Her husband, Matthew, also contributed to the effort in his own way. He made a beautiful donation box for RGM. My dear wife, Heidi, joined us on Thursday and spoke to several people about Christ as well as our oldest daughter, Erin and her family. I thank the Lord for everyone who helped with this event to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
FUTURE PROJECTS:
As we look back at what the Lord has done, we also look forward with great anticipation to opportunities He is opening up for us as we pursue spreading the Gospel message through different avenues, both in Iowa and California.
Sioux Center, Iowa
One such way will be, Lord willing, to hold open air preaching events. In Iowa we have the opportunity to hold these events at the Sioux Center City Park at the public speaking stage area. The city does not charge fee for use of the stage, only that we reserve it for the times we would like to use it. At this time we will be holding these events in the early afternoon, which was suggested by one of the leaders at Sioux Center United Reformed Church. Lord willing, we will begin in the later part of April or the beginning of May. Your prayers and financial support are much needed to hold these events as we need to purchase sound equipment and other supplies and materials to ensure that the event will go as smoothly as possible, according to the grace of God.
We are also considering beginning a community outreach Bible study that will be geared toward an evangelistic approach to the study of God’s word. In addition, it is desired to hold seminars and conferences to help encourage believers in the community to proclaim the gospel in a way that is Biblically uncompromising, and in a winsome way (speaking the truth in love, with grace, correcting in humility – Ephesians 4:15; Colossians 4:6; 2 Timothy 2:25).
Acton, California
We continue to hold Tuesday evening Bible studies. A new study will begin next week in the Gospel of Mark using Ferguson Sinclair’s study guide. It is our prayer that will reinforce the gospel message to believers encouraging and to embolden them in them their witness of Jesus Christ to their friends, loved ones, or anyone who needs to hear the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. We keep this study in prayer.
We also continue to hold Chapel for Travelers at the Californian RV Resort on the Lord’s Day in the afternoon. Please pray that the Lord will bring those who traveling and others in the community to come for singing of hymns, prayer and exhorting from God’s word.
In addition to the Bible studies and Chapel services, RGM will also be conducting outreach events in the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley. These events are still in planning stages. Please also keep this effort in your prayers as we seek to reach out into the community with gospel of Jesus Christ.
We have been blessed with the financial support of individuals in the past. Going forward we are praying that the Lord will be pleased to move in the hearts of His people to continue that support as we seek different ways to proclaim the Gospel. Your financial support is needed to continue this work and if you are not able to give financially, we welcome your prayer and if possible, volunteering your time to help proclaim the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
