Some of you might already know I had gone to the ER last Thursday for abdominal pain. After several tests and a CT scan it was determined that I needed an emergency appendecemy. The surgery went well and was discharged the next day to recover at home, which I have been doing since. Needless to say, the plans for the weekend were cancelled – Saturday’s tract distribution in a parade, and on the Lord’s day (filling the pulpit twice at a church about 50 miles away – travel distance would have been over 200 miles). My recovery has been slower than originally thought so the Gospel in the Park evangelism event for this Saturday with a gospel singing group, The Klassen Family, is being cancelled, especially since Lord willing I will be preaching this Lord’s day twice at Grace Reformed Presbytertian Church, Orange City (about 12 miles away). Work on setting up a date in August for the next Gospel in the Park – Lord willing with the Klassen Family Singers. It is hoped that by next week I will be fully recovered from the surgery and able to continue reaching out proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Heidi has been in a lot of pain – unlike mine, her’s is on-going. We are hoping that she will be able to get some relief soon as the doctor what might be able to determine what will work best for her psoriatic arthitis (still trying to get her shingles under control – not as painful as the other). Her health remains a concern (esophogeal problems and overall chronic fatigue and weakness).
Please keep Heidi and me in your prayers – me for continued recovery from my surgery and eneregy to continue in my labors in the Lord . . . for Heidi, in her on-going health needs.
Our strength is in the Lord; He is our Rock and our Refuge in our time of need – Oh Lord, every hour we need You!
Soli Deo Gloria!
