In Christ, we are:

1) God’s servants – Purchased by His precious blood, we belong to Him to serve Him willingly, according to His infallible, inerrant written word, the Bible (Romans 6:18-22; 7:6; 1 Peter 1:17-19; 1 Corinthians 7:22-23; 9:19; Galatians 5:13-15; Colossians 3:23-24; 1 Thessalonians 1:9; Hebrews 9:13-14; 12:28; Revelation 22:3, 6)

2) God’s Children – Born of God the Holy Spirit to live in submission to our heavenly Father’s will (John 1:12-13; 3:3, 5-7; 1 John 3:7-9, 18; 5:1-3; Peter 1:13-14, 22-23; 2:1-3)

3) God’s Sheep – Tended by Him protecting, preserving and providing for our every need we depend upon Him all our needs, both of body and soul, look to Him and follow Him alone, who is our Great Shepherd (John 10:11, 27-30; Hebrews 13:20; Psalm 23:1-6; Isaiah 40:11; 1 Peter 2:21)

4) God’s Elect – Chosen by God from before the foundations of world to be saved by Him and glorify Him, forever (Ephesians 1:3-6; Colossians 3:12-17)

5) God’s Called out ones – Called out of the world and darkness through the preaching of the gospel to trust Him and live to Him alone in holiness (2 Timothy 1:9; Romans 1:5-7; 8:28-30; Galatians 5:13; 1 Peter 1:15; 2:9, 21; John 15:19)

6) God’s Disciples – Taught by God His truth to learn of Him and obey Him, according to His word (John 6:45; Isaiah 54:13; 1 Corinthians 2:10-16; 1 Thessalonians 4:9)

7) Heirs – By Christ’s blood an everlasting inheritance was obtained reserved in heaven that our hope and joy may be full in times of trials and tribulations (Romans 8:17; Titus 3:7; 1 Peter 1:3-8; Hebrews 9:15; James 2:5)

8) Living Stones of His Temple – He is the living chief cornerstone of a spiritual house made up of living stones to offer up sacrifices acceptable to God through Him (1 Peter 2:4-10; Ephesians 2:19-22; Hebrews 13:15; Romans 12:1-2)

9) Members of His One Body – United to Him by the Holy Spirit to minister to one another for the edification of His body (1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 27; Ephesians 4:4, 7, 11-16)

10) Partakers of His one death – He died for our sins so that we might die to sin (Romans 6:5-14; Colossians 3:1-11; Ephesians 4:17-31)

11) Partakers of His resurrection – He overcame the devil, world and death so that by faith we have victory over them (Hebrews 2:14; John 16:33; 1 John 5:4-5; 1 Corinthians 15:56-57)

In Christ a covenantal relationship is established by His blood (ground and seal of that covenant) through faith (the means of entering into that covenant) and given expression in all that we are Him so that it might be said of us who are in Christ that the Lord is our God and we are is people, both individually and corporately (Jeremiah 31:31-33; Zechariah 8:8; Luke 22:20; 1 Corinthians 11:25; Hebrews 8:10; 9:15, 20; 10:11-18; Revelation 21:3, 7)

Won’t you this day repent of your sins and by faith alone come to Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of your sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life to begin living in a covenantal relationship with Christ as described above to the glory of God alone.

Soli Deo Gloria!
