Not a Christian if Baptized by Water Only

He is not a Jew that is circumcised outwardly in the flesh; he is a Jew who is circumcised of the heart, in the Spirit, ‘not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God’” – Romans 2:28-29

So also, he is not a Christian that is baptized by water outwardly in the flesh;

He is a Christian who is baptized of the heart, by the Holy Spirit;

Through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit;

Baptized into Jesus Christ, buried with Him into death, and raised from being dead in trespasses and sins by the glory of the Father;

Then, given the gift of faith to embrace with a believing heart all that Jesus Christ merited for him in His death and resurrection, so he should by faith alone walk in the newness of life, presenting his body a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God;

A reasonable service to Him not conforming to this world, but rather living a transformed life by the renewing of his mind from the word of God in order to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God – Then praise will not be from men but from God alone, who saves all who belong to Him by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone to the glory of God alone (Titus 3:5; Romans 6:3-4; 12:1-2; John 12:43).

Call on the name of Jesus Christ and you will be saved from the penalty rightly due for your sins; that is, eternal death in the torment of hell. In His one atoning death on the cross He obtained for sinners, like you and me, the forgiveness of sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life. Having been raised again from the dead all who are in Christ will be resurrected on the last day at Christ’s Second Coming to eternal blessing to praise Him and glorify Him, forever.

Therefore, the hope of the person baptized by the Holy Spirit is not in his or her own works; but rather, in the work of Jesus Christ applied to him or her – to the glory of God alone!

Soli Deo Gloria!
