Jesus continues to defend Himself against the false charges of Sabbath breaking and blasphemy. As He does so He is also building up and encouraging His disciples, and us also, explaining who He is, His power and authority as the Son of God and the Son of man to give life to all who will hear His word, the Gospel, and believe in Him who sent Him; that is, God, the Father. He declares that all who hear His word and believe in Him who sent Him show evidence of a transformed life; life that was once dead spiritually and raise to a new life in Jesus Christ; having passed from death to life, everlasting life that is both present and future. They will not be condemned by Him at His Second Coming; but will stand before Him, who is their Redeemer and not their Judge, who condemn all who have rebelled against God Almighty and rejected Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
